Advocating with Knowledge, Compassion and Expertise

Understanding Your
Educational Rights

Northeast Education Advocacy was founded in 2015 with the desire to help students of all ages succeed in academics and life activities and to feel confident in themselves and their abilities. Located in eastern Connecticut, we are open to helping all individuals in any location.

While parents are committed to their children's education and social and behavioral health, and adult students are determined to achieve their goals in higher education, oftentimes people don't know or understand their legal rights and protections.

Our role as advocates is to listen, to learn, and to assist in ensuring that all students succeed.

Testimonials

Trusted by students and parents for delivering quality education, practical learning, and lasting success.

  • We want to express our immense gratitude for the quality of service and the level of commitment Joanne has shown us. It brings such great satisfaction to have someone help you advocate for the services your child needs to thrive both academically and socially. After trying to handle things on our own for so long without success, Joanne came into our lives, and everything changed. We enlisted her services earlier this year, and just this past week, our son started at a new school that can provide the help and support he needs! Thank you, thank you for everything! 1,000% recommended!

  • We had an excellent experience working with Joanne. From the beginning, she demonstrated a deep knowledge of our district and how to effectively navigate the special education system. She quickly identified a program for our daughter was that a perfect fit, something we had not been aware of. What really stood out was her proactive approach. She didn't just offer advice - she took action. The school understood then that we were informed, prepared, and serious about getting support. Thanks to her guidance and advocacy, we felt confident, supported and finally heard. I highly recommend her to any family struggling to navigate special education services. She truly made a difference!
